Job Title: Senior Payroll & Accounting Manager

Overview of Role:

The Senior Payroll and Accounting Manager will lead worldwide payroll and certain general ledger accounting close activities.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Manage US, UK, Swiss payroll, prepare payroll flux analysis, and other payroll related activities (i.e. 401K, ESPP)
  • Partners with HR to ensure accuracy and timeliness of payroll, review off-cycle payroll, termination check processing
  • Ensures payroll tax payments are compliant with applicable federal, state and local tax laws
  • Maintains Company’s payroll compliance by staying up to date and preparing for new federal, state and local laws, educating and training departments and advising management of changes
  • Support the internal and external audit & SOX requirements related to Payroll cycle
  • Review US and UK AP payment runs and 1099 reporting
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly UK VAT filing
  • Manage Concur expense system and month-end accrual activities
  • Prepare sales and use tax and property taxes
  • Assist GL accounting tasks (prepaids, fixed assets, benefits accrual, fluxes) and other ad hoc activities
  • Manage and coach staff
  • All other duties as assigned

Experience, Education and Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

  • Applicable payroll certification including but not limited to CPP, CPS, CPM, and/or GPMI strongly preferred; Bachelors or Masters in Accounting preferred
  • A minimum of 8+ years of relevant experience. Biotech industry experience preferred
  • Experience with ADP is required
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP by design, Concur, Floqast) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • An ability to work well cross functionally and across geographies

The pay range for this role is $135,000-$150,000 annually. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor. The total compensation package for this position may also include bonus, stock, benefits and/or other applicable variable compensation. The successful candidate will also be eligible for health benefits, 401(k) with 6% employer match from day one, ESPP with up to a 15% discount up to the federal limit, flexible spending account among other benefits.
